OMA'S PRALINE MOLASSES COOKIES
Ingredients
- 2/3 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup dark molasses
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 3/4 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger or cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup broken pecans
Preparation
- Slowly melt butter, then cool.
- Add sugar and molasses to butter, mix well.
- Add beaten eggs and vanilla, mix well.
- Sift together flour, baking soda, ginger or cinnamon, and salt. Add to wet ingredients and mix well.
- Sift a little flour over the pecans. Add to batter and mix in.
- Drop by the 1/2 teaspoon on well greased and floured cookie sheet 2 inches apart.
- Bake at 375 for 8-10 minutes.
- Remove with spatula before cooling.

"I like to bake one sample cookie since they are a little tricky. You don't want too much flour
or they won't be nice and chewy. Be careful about measurements. Don't bake too brown or they
will taste bitter. I have found Grandma's Molasses best to use. Good luck."
